Connection presets let you save a complete server configuration — provider type, server address, port, and credentials — under a friendly name and switch between setups in a single tap. If you connect to a home LM Studio server during the evening and an OpenRouter key during travel, presets eliminate the need to re-enter details every time you change environments.Documentation Index

| Server IP & port | For local server presets |
| API key | For OpenRouter or custom endpoint presets |
| LM Studio API token | Optional authentication token for local servers |
Save a new preset
Configure your connection
Open Settings (the gear icon) and go to Step 1 — Connection. Choose your provider type and fill in your server address, port, or API key as normal.
Open the Saved Presets section
Scroll down within the Connection step to the Saved Presets card and tap the expand arrow to open it.
Enter a preset name
Type a name in the Preset Name field. The name is required — the Save button stays disabled until you provide one.
Switch to a saved preset
Tap a preset
Tap any preset in the list to load its stored connection details into the active configuration.
Update an existing preset
If your server IP changes or you rotate an API key, you can overwrite a saved preset rather than creating a duplicate.Update your connection settings
Enter the new server address or credentials in the Connection step as usual.
Select the existing preset to edit
In the Saved Presets list, tap the edit icon on the preset you want to update.
Delete a preset
Tap the delete icon on any preset in the list and confirm removal. Deleting a preset does not change your current active connection.Common use cases
Home vs. work server
Home vs. work server
Save your home LM Studio IP under “Home LM Studio” and your office Ollama instance under “Work Ollama”. Switch between them in seconds when you move between networks.
Local vs. cloud fallback
Local vs. cloud fallback
Keep a “Local Server” preset for when your PC is running and an “OpenRouter Cloud” preset for when you’re away from home and want cloud model access.
Multiple OpenRouter keys
Multiple OpenRouter keys
If you manage separate OpenRouter API keys for personal and professional use, store each as its own preset.
Preset data is stored on-device only. Presets are not synced to any cloud service and are not included in LMSA’s chat history export.
