How LMSA connects to AI
LMSA supports three types of AI providers. You choose one in the app’s settings.LM Studio
Connect to a GGUF model running locally on your PC or Mac via LM Studio. Your conversations never leave your home network.
Ollama
Connect to any model served by an Ollama instance on your local network. Supports all Ollama-compatible models.
OpenRouter
Access 100+ leading cloud models — including Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek, Claude, and Gemini — using your own OpenRouter API key.
Custom endpoint
Point LMSA at any OpenAI-compatible API endpoint with an optional API key. Works with self-hosted or enterprise deployments.

LMSA does not run AI models on your phone. It acts as a lightweight interface that connects to a model running on your PC (local mode) or a cloud API (cloud mode). Your phone’s processing power does not affect model performance.
