LMSA does not run AI models on your device. For local server mode, the model runs on your PC — your phone only needs to reach it over your home Wi-Fi network. For cloud mode, you need an active internet connection and an API key from your chosen provider.

First-launch experience
Accept the terms
On first launch, LMSA displays its terms of service and privacy policy. Review and accept them to continue.
Complete the setup wizard
LMSA walks you through selecting your AI provider type (local server or cloud) and entering your connection details. You can skip this and configure it later in Settings.
Grant permissions (optional)
LMSA may request microphone access for voice input and storage access for file attachments. These are optional — you can grant or deny them and adjust permissions later in Android system settings.
